Hospital of the Year Award

(Formerly the Community Leadership Award.)

GHA's Hospital of the Year recognizes a GHA-member hospital that has made exemplary contributions to the health and well-being of the people of Georgia through leadership in the area of community health improvement. The award is presented annually at the GHA Summer Meeting. The 2026 meeting will be held July 8-10.

Nominations

Please note that the hospital CEO/administrator/president and/or board chair must authorize this nomination and its submission to GHA. You will have the opportunity to note this authorization in the nomination.

Any GHA-member hospital may make a nomination. A hospital may nominate its own programs.

Nominations must explain how the organization meets the following criteria for excellence in serving Georgia's healthcare community:

  • Outstanding Community-Based Contribution: The hospital shall have made, or be making, a truly outstanding contribution through an initiative to improve the health status of individuals, targeted groups, communities or the state. (750 words or fewer)
  • Community Connections: The hospital has developed an innovative, collaborative approach to meeting an identified community need(s) to advance health status and/or reduce health disparities. (750 words or fewer)
  • Results: As a result of the hospital's efforts, there is concrete evidence of heightened community involvement in addressing local and healthcare needs. The efforts have also instilled within the community a greater sense of affiliation with the hospital and a better understanding of the role it plays in the vitality of the community. (750 words or fewer)
