GHA and Georgia Southern Partner to Offer Training to Rural Hospitals

The Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) is pleased to announce its partnership with Georgia Southern University to provide state-mandated educational training for hospital executives and board members. The first round of training is required to be completed by Dec. 31, 2020.

Georgia Southern will utilize experienced professors from its Masters of Public Health and Masters of Healthcare Administration programs to develop and deliver the education. Training will be available throughout the year via in-person, virtual, and on-demand modules to accommodate all styles of learners. Click here for the curriculum and calendar.

GHA and Georgia Southern will work closely with the Georgia Rural Health Innovation Center to ensure program integrity, reporting compliance, and continued opportunities for improvement.

The GHA and Georgia Southern Board Education Program, in its current form, will run from Jan. 1, 2020 through Dec. 31, 2021. This timeframe will provide hospitals ample opportunity to meet the initial Dec. 31, 2020 deadline and allows the potential to certify members of up to three full Board terms. Education programs for subsequent years will be determined by member feedback and consultation with the Georgia Rural Health Innovation Center at Mercer.

The anticipated annual cost for the program will be $2,500 per hospital, which includes two full years of unlimited training for current board members, future appointed board members, CEO, CFO, and other executives.

GHA will host an introductory webinar in November to detail the process and answer any questions you may have related to this program.
