Georgia Society for Healthcare Consumer Advocacy (GSHCA)

The mission of the Georgia Society for Healthcare Consumer Advocacy is to develop and deliver the highest quality of non-medical healthcare services to patients, families, and visitors. This mission will be carried out within the following parameters and commitments:

The society's purpose is to be a liaison between patients, family members, visitors, and medical staff.

The society's focus is to enhance the individual's development of a wide array of skills encompassing crisis intervention, bereavement counseling, meeting emotional needs, and expediting various social needs.

The society offers educational programs for all levels of personnel and the public. Its educational activities, ranging from state/national annual conferences to quarterly state district meetings/seminars to community education, have advanced the awareness of health care across the state.

The Georgia Society promotes and maintains relationships with personnel in all programs in the state, other state societies, and the National Society of Patient Representation and Consumer Affairs.
