How to make a screensaver from the Handwashing Posters (for Windows XP):

1. RIGHT click HERE for the Handwashing PowerPoint and choose “save target as.”

2. Save the PowerPoint on your desktop (or anywhere that you can subsequently find). Close your internet browser window.

3. Navigate to where you put the PowerPoint file. Open the PowerPoint in the usual way. Then, do File, and click on “save as” from the file menu.

4. At the top, change the file location (where you want it saved) to “My Documents/My pictures.” You can click on my documents on the side and then do the dropdown to get to My Pictures. Make a new folder in that file called Handwashing. (To make a new folder, right click in a blank space inside the My Pictures folder and choose "new folder" - then change the name to whatever you wish). Double click your new folder to open it and save the files there.

5. Where it says “save as type,” use the drop down arrow and choose “gif” (or jpeg or png, it doesn’t matter).

6. PowerPoint will ask you if you want to export every slide in the presentation. Click “yes”

7. When it says it’s done, close PowerPoint.

8. Go back to your desktop and choose a blank space. Right click and choose Properties.

9. Click the Screen Saver tab at the top.

10. In the dropdown list box under “Screen saver”(mid page), choose “My Pictures Slideshow” (this works in XP).

11.Click on settings. Halfway down it says “Use pictures in this folder.” Click on Browse and find your folder with the posters in it. Double click the name of the folder. Click on okay.

You now have a screensaver that scrolls thru the Handwashing Posters.

(Note: this works with any set of pictures as long as they are in a specific file).

Other uses:
T he PowerPoint can run continually on display before a presentation. It is currently set up to do that so all you would have to do is open it and "view show" as you normally would. Please note that once you begin to view the PowerPoint, it will then cycle continuously until someone hits the escape key.
